Australia Day 2009

Yesterday ,, January 26, 2009 we celebrated AUSTRALIA DAY....

We went to the city to celebrate it  instead of taking our car we decide to take a train , knowing that we will have a hard time finding a parking and we are avoiding the traffic...
It took us 1  hour and 30 minutes but my hubby and I were quite surprised and delighted that we took a train ride.. It was a hassle free trip for us...
When we arrived the city ,, it was jam packed.. people everywhere... relaxing at the park,, having pic nics,, people on the boat ,, some are socializing in a cafe / restaurant... Shows and music on the other side of the harbour and some events happening at the Botanic garden..
But most of all people are happy being out and show their true colours even though the weather is overcast and hot!!!!!!
 Aussie Aussie Oi oi oi!!!

Our Long Weekend Trip

We had a great weekend as usual...

We went to Canberra ACT Australia to visit the Floriade, we left our place Friday late  afternoon and came back Monday afternoon. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in Kingston .
Although the weather was changing from overcast to a clear day ; it did not damapen our moods to go around the city.. saturday was overcast and what a better way to spend it by going SHOPPING... yes we visited the Brand Depot,, and we got back with heaps of loot.. then visited the War Memorial ; which is the best placeto visit  to learn more about the wars that Australian  in which they had fought. We also saw the relics, artefacts and documents of the WW1 and WW2 which were highly preserved..
ROLL of HONOUR

At the heart of the Memorial is a long series of panels recording the names of Australia's over 102,000 war dead. This is known as the Roll of Honour. An online database compiled from data used to create the Roll of Honour is available on this web site. Search it for details of family members or friends who died serving their country.

Sunday is the best because it was a beaustiful Sunny day so we went out for another shopping trip at DFO direct factory outlet then off we went to visit  the Floriade which is an annual flower display..
I just cant help but take heaps of photos of the breath taking display of different varieties of Tulips and other bulbs..
Floriade is Australia’s annual celebration of spring – a flower festival with more than a million flowers that bloom on cue for four weeks in September and October each year..
To complement the spectacular flower display, Floriade presents an exciting entertainment program with visiting and local performers, children’s activities, workshops, exhibitions, showcase gardens, food, wine and shopping.

After staying there for almost 2 hours we went to visit the Train Museum to keep my son happy. it was a hectic day and stayed in the apartment the whole night...
Then Monday morning had a quick visit to the Parliament House to take some photos and then off we went to the Dinosaur Museum...
If you can see we had the enjoyed this weekend!!!!!

What a great Weekeend!!! The kids were good and my hubby was generous!!!!!!

Cool in Bondi

Just sharing with you information and our pictures taken at Bondi Beach,, we have to take my sis JenL to this beach to see the famous Bondi Beach and enjoy the sceneries..

Bondi Beach, Australia’s most famous beach, is located in the suburb of Bondi, in the Municipality of Waverley, seven kilometres from the centre of Sydney. Bondi is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning the sound of breaking waves. There are Aboriginal Rock carvings on the northern end of the beach at Ben Buckler and south of Bondi Beach near McKenzies Beach on the coastal walk.

Bondi Beach is approximately one kilometre long. The width of Bondi Beach averages 50m at the north end, widening out to 100m at the south end. It is the widest beach in the Sydney region.
The average water temperature at Bondi Beach in summer is 21 degrees. The average water temperature in September/October is 16 degrees.
A shark net is laid about 150m off the beach, set in 8m of water. (There has been no shark fatality since 1937).
At the southern end of the beach is the Bondi Baths, which are over 100 years old and have been used by the famous Bondi Icebergs for many years. At the northern end of the beach there is the Children’s Wading Pool and the Wally Weekes Pool.
Swimming areas are designated by red and yellow flags, which are moved according to surf conditions. The northern end and the centre of the beach is usually the safest for swimming. The south end of the beach is available for board riders who are not permitted to go into the areas set aside for swimmers.

Farm Visit

Old McDonald had a Farm  Ei -ei- O

We are always out and about especially my sister JenL is here ,, we make sure we go out every weekends to visit different places .. Kids like to see the native animals like kangaroo and Koala.. Bianca was a bit scared of the Kangaroo because it went near her sniffing her stuff... She started to whimper and dad Joe helped her to ease her fears.. while on the other hand Braiden and Micah were excitedly patting the scary kangaroo..  Koala ,, who loves to sleep has to be waken up by the caretakers to feed them... they are very docile mammals and they are just so cuddly...

It was a nice sunny autumn day,, best time to spent  outdoors... like what we did a picnic at the farm and an enjoyable day visiting the farm....
